Located just a 1 hour drive north of Cabo San Lucas, Vela Baja has always been a favorite winter get-away. From mid-November through early March Baja's famous "El Norte" winds sweep the Sea of Cortez attracting kitesurfers from around the world with ideal conditions for all levels of ability.Our base of operations is the Playa del Sol, in the heart of Los Barriles, With a beachfront location, beautiful gardens, upgraded rooms, heated pool, an incredible selection of kites and boards from Cabrinha, plus assisted downwinder trips for advanced riders, our staff can't wait to show you Baja!

All lessons are taught in the uncrowded waters at North Beach where certified instructors have your safety as their primary focus. You'll start on the wide beach with a trainer kite to give you a clear understanding of the power of the kite. After that, the body-drag lesson will introduce you to a larger kite with a focus on safety, depowering, launching and landing, relaunching, and safety release. Those skills are necessary for you to get a board on your feet, and ride!
