Explore something new! Beautiful, warm, crystal-blue and clear water with several hundred yards of sandy bottom. Orient Bay was elected the "best beach of the Caribbean" for it white sandy beach, crystal clear waters, myriad water activities and fine hotels, and the fact that it is surrounded by a marine park. And for anyone from wave-riding addicts to first-timers students, this is a perfect spot for kitesurfing!

Orient Bay offers the largest and safest kiting spot in St Martin. Great for everyone! Flat water in the lagoon, choppy conditions in front, and swell and waves outside for a true playground. Stop on nearby Pinel island and Green cay island, the ride is safe and the waters are crystal clear. If you are not 100% independant, choose our upwind taxi boat or take some lessons to get your skills down. Windy season is October through July, when the tradewinds supply an average of 15 knots though it is not unusual to have back-to-back days of 20+. Vela offers excellent support for kiters: take rentals with the latest from Cabrinha, fill up at the air compressor, ask a team member for a launch, and ride with multiple assistance and rescue possibilities on hand.
